 2017 Preview 


       Bibb County completed the 2016 season with a 8-4 record. Last year Bibb County captured the region four title and a number one seed in the Class 4A playoffs. They finished region play with a 6-1 record. Bibb County reached the second round of the playoffs before falling to Thomasville by a score of 41-21.

       Since 2010, Bibb County has gone a combined 58-24. Their 71.0% winning percentage ranks 10th in Class 4A over the past seven seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Bibb County has managed to compile a record of 160-119. Their 57.0% winning percentage ranks 15th in Class 4A and 113rd in the AHSAA.

       The Choctaws are led by head coach Matt Geohagan who is entering his third season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 15-8 over the past two seasons at Bibb County. Under his direction the Choctaws have qualified for the playoffs a total of two times. They have won two region crowns with Coach Geohagan.

       Coach Geohagan's overall record as a head football coach in two season stands at 15-8 (65.2%).

       The Bibb County Choctaws will play in Class 4A region four during the 2017 season.

       The Choctaws should be considered one of the favorites for the region four championship this season and a home game in the first round of the playoffs.

       The Choctaws open the 2017 season on the road against non-region opponent Jemison on Friday, August 25 at Panther Stadium. Last year the Jemison Panthers finished with an overall record of 3-8 and in fourth place in Class 5A region three. The Panthers lost in the first round of the Class 5A playoffs to Central Clay County by a score of 56-14.

       Bibb County and Jemison have met a total of 35 times on the football field. The Choctaws have a 23-10-2 record against the Panthers. They last met in 2016 with Bibb County winning by a score of 47-13.

  


Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History

Clay County shutout an amazing eleven opponents in 1996. The Panthers outscored their opponents 613-42 finishing the season 15-0.
